Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE: To switch over between a diesel cycle and a miller cycle easily by utilizing the structure of conventional compressed air open type braking device. CONSTITUTION: An engine valve opening and closing control device is provided with an interlocking mechanism 30 which drives an intake valve or an exhaust valve of the other cylinder by interlocking it with an intake or exhaust rocker arm for each cylinder and a switchover means to switch over the interlocking mechanism 30 between the operating condition and stop condition. Also the interlocking mechanism 30 comprises a hydraulic pressure generating part 12, a drive part 13, and an oil path 11 to connect the hydraulic pressure generating part 12 and drive part 13 between the cylinders different from each other. Then the interlocking mechanism 30 is formed so that the start of compression in a combustion chamber of cylinders at the end of intake stroke is delayed when an intake or an exhaust rocker arm is operated. It is also provided with a control means which, when an internal combustion engine is in a high speed, low load area, controls the switchover means so that the interlocking mechanism 30 is brought into operating conditions. |
