Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a cellular sepiolite substance excellent in adsorption performance and characteristics as a catalyst carrier by pulverizing sepiolite, conditioning moisture thereof, then forming the conditioned sepiolite, burning the formed compact at a specific temperature and subsequently washing the burned compact with an acid. CONSTITUTION:Sepiolite is pulverized and moisture thereof is conditioned. The resultant powder is then formed and the resultant formed compact is burned at a temperature within the range of about 650-800 deg.C. The burned sepiolite compact is subsequently washed with an acid to afford the objective cellular substance.
