PURPOSE:To automatically and comfortably control an air conditioner in response to a human movement even if a complicated and difficult setting operation is not executed. CONSTITUTION:The controller for an air conditioner comprises main control means 1b which can alter a set temperature according to an output from position sensing means 12 for sensing a distance from the conditioner in a human existing direction by set temperature altering means 2c, alter an air flowing direction by wind direction altering means 2d and alter an air flowing speed by air flowing speed altering means 2g. Accordingly, even if a complicated setting operation is not executed, a spot operation is automatically conducted in response to a human movement, and comfortable and convenient air conditioning is obtained.
