PURPOSE:To display respective elements which belongs to a system as a graphic by simple specification and to easily alter it by using a graphic data file and a state correspondence table according to the code of a specified graphic data file and the names of respective elements which belong to the file. CONSTITUTION:This graphic display system is equipped with the graphic data file 1 wherein the names of the respective elements, the kinds, positions, and sizes of graphics, and state names are prescribed and the state correspondence table 2 wherein display specifications are prescribed by the state names. Then the graphic data file 1 and state correspondence table 2 are used according to the code specification of the specified graphic data file 1 and the specification of contents to be altered to alter and display the contents of the kind, position, and size of a graphic of corresponding elements, a state name, and the display specification of the state name on a CRT display 4. Consequently, respective elements which belong to the system are displayed as a graphic by simple specification and easily altered.
