PURPOSE:To input a data of fingerprint pattern from which individual identification is attained with high accuracy through simple operation by detecting it that a fingerprint pattern taking face is depressed at a prescribed force and inputting the data of the fingerprint pattern. CONSTITUTION:Since a support member 3 has an elasticity, when a finger is pressed onto a fingerprint pattern taking face 7 provided to a transparent optical member 2, the transparent optical member 2 is displaced in a direction perpendicular to the face 7 with its pressing force, and when the pressing of the face 7 by a prescribed force is detected by a detection means 4, a control means 20 inputs an output of a photoelectric conversion means 6 as a fingerprint pattern data. The data of the fingerprint pattern depressed at a prescribed force is inputted by pressing a finger onto the fingerprint take face 7 in this way, and the data of the fingerprint pattern able to identify person is inputted with high accuracy and less mis-recognition.
