PURPOSE:To obtain the subject apparatus, equipped with a running and operating means for a bucket car receiving burned coke pushed from a coke oven with a pusher, a running position sensing means and an operating position sensing means for confirming the approach of the bucket car, and capable of simplifying the control operation. CONSTITUTION:In an operating controller of a bucket car 14 for a coke oven 11 for pushing out burned coke from a designated oven chamber of the coke oven 11 with a pusher 21, receiving the coke in a coke bucket on the bucket car 14, moving the bucket car 14 to coke dry quenching equipment (CDQ) 12 and quenching the coke, the following means are installed. A running and operating means for connecting and linking a wire rope 37 to the bucket car 14, pulling the wire rope 37 by rotation and driving of a winch device 32 to reciprocate and run the bucket car 14 on a track 15; a running position sensing means 40 for sensing the required operating position of the bucket car 14 from the extent of the rotation and driving and an operating position sensing means 29 for confirming the quenching position of the CDQ and approach of the bucket car 14. Thereby, operation of the bucket car 14 is controlled with a system operation controller 16 based on the sensed results thereof.
