Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To improve working efficiency and inspection accuracy by automati cally judging an erroneously corrected contour. CONSTITUTION:The rate Ra of the number of bits expressed by values '1' in a binary original picture data D0 to the number of all bits is calculated (S120). Then corrected contour data D2 prepared by manual correcting work using a mouse or the like are vector/raster converted (S170) to prepare raster type new picture data D3 indicating a font having the contour specified by the data D2 as a boundary. Then the rate Rb of the number of bits expressed by values '1' in the data D3 to the number of all bits is calculated (S180). Then the deviation of the rate Rb from the rate R is calculated, and when the deviation is larger than a prescribed value, the defectness of the data D2, i.e., a contour font, is judged (steps S190, S220).
