Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To improve safety of food by transforming host bacterium with a specific vector. CONSTITUTION:Replication onset range (ori) derived from plasmid pLJI of Lactobacillus helveticus is linked with replication onset range derived from plasmid pBR329 of Escherichia coli and beta-galactosidase gene derived from Lactobacillus bulgaricus to constitute complex shuttle vector pBH9 (A) for lactic acid bacillus-Escherichia coli. Then a desired range derived from plasmid pAMbeta1 of Enterococcus faecalis is integrated into an upper stream of beta- galactosidase gene of the component A to give a vector (B) strongly manifesting beta-galactosidase gene as a selective marker. Then a lactose nonassimilating host lactic acid vacillus is transformed with the component B to collect Lactobacillus helveticus SBT2,196 strain (FERM P-11,676).
