PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radial tire for heavy load which can effectively prevent a crack which occurs on an outer surface of the tire. SOLUTION: This is a radial tire for heavy load provided with a carcass 6 having a carcass ply 6a in which a folding back part 6B which is folded back by a bead core 5 is integrally provided in a main body part 6A which extends from a tread part 2 to the bead core 5 of a bead part 4 through a side wall part 3. The bead part 4 has a bead apex rubber 8 which is extended on the outside in the radial direction of the tire from the bead core 5 in such a manner that its tip becomes thin and is made of hard rubber. The folding back part 6B has a parallel part G which extends on the outside in the radial direction along an outer side face in the axial direction of the bead apex rubber 8, is substantially parallel with the main body part 6A of the carcass, and extends on the outside in the radial direction, and a length L of this parallel part G is 0.5 to 5.0 times maximum width CW of a cross section of the bead core 5.
