Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To easily obtain the title whiskers having a large average length in a short time by heating an aq. soln. contg. calcium salt, phosphoric acid and/or phosphate and urea at a prescribed temp. and heating the resulting liq. reaction product under prescribed conditions. CONSTITUTION:An aq. sol. contg. calcium salt and phosphoric acid and/or phosphate is heated at 70-90 deg.C in the presence of urea to form octacalcium phosphate whiskers having >=100mum average length. The resulting liq. reaction product contg. the whiskers is then heated at 90-180 deg.C. Carbonate-contg. hydroxyapatite whiskers having >=50 mum average length are formed.
