SOLUTION: Impressing timings of scanning pulses and data pulses to be impressed on scanning electrodes and data electrodes are made to be different from those in a conventional driving method. That is, scanning pulses to be impressed on odd numbered scanning electrodes S1 , S3 , S5 ... are impressed on them every other scanning time. In this state, even numbered scanning electrodes are all scanned by being delayed by four scanning time. In this method, when the number of scanning lines is made to be 480 lines, scanning lines are scanned in order of S1 , S478 , S3 , S480 , S5 , S2 , S7 , S4 ,... Moreover, the scanning electrodes are scanned in order of S1 , a pause, S3 , a pause, S5 , S2 ,..., S479 , S476 , a pause, S478 , a pause, S480 as another scanning method.
