PURPOSE:To enable a patient to select a desirable department of a hospital by a method wherein consultable departments are notified by insertion of the patient's registration card and, when a desired department is selected out of the notified ones, an acceptance slip is issued corresponding to the department. CONSTITUTION:A patient puts his registration card into a card slit. A revisit acceptance machine 10 reads the patient information out of the card and sends the information to a revisit system controller 20. The controller 20 decides the consultable departments and sends them to the machine 10 to turn on the lamps of revisitable departments. Thus the patient selects a desirable department out of those revisitable ones and inputs it by key operation. When the department information is sent to the controller 20 from the machine 10, an acceptance number is added to the information in consideration of conditions presented by an insurance certificate in each department. The machine 10 receives the acceptance number information and outputs an acceptance slip bearing the acceptance number through a acceptance slip issuing port for each department. The controller 20 sends the updated information also to a host computer 50.
