PURPOSE:To obtain a contact point with high reliability having few defects such as a void and incomplete penetration by holding temporarily a contact point material and a metal plate while rubbing these mechanically and then, heating and welding these. CONSTITUTION:A recession 1a is formed on the joining face of the contact point material 1 and the metal plate 2 is subjected to plastic deformation by drawing, etc., via a jig 4. The metal plate 2 is held temporarily on the recession 1a of the contact point material 1 and pressed in the recession 1a while being rubbed mechanically and stuck to each other. The joining part is then irradiated with a high energy beam such as a laser beam or an electron beam or subjected to resistance heating, etc., and molten and joined together. By this method, at the time of subsequent heat treatment, diffusion reaction of atoms easily takes place even if an activator such as flux is not used and stable joining is obtained.
