PURPOSE:To easily manage the maintenance of a device by providing a device information monitor part which continuously gathers and monitors information of each part of the device independently of the operation state of the device and reports them to a medium position display control part. CONSTITUTION:A device information monitor part 15 receives information related to the device state through a paper money reception/discharge control part (omitted in the figure) and writes required data in a data memory 16 for illustration display. Consequently, contents of the memory 16 are always updated at intervals of a certain time even after the occurrence of trouble and even the device is normally operated. A running path display control part 12 and a medium position display control part 13 display the illustration of a medium running path on a display part 11 together with the output of each of sensors arranged at principal points of the device. A frame for medium position display is provided in the position of each sensor on the display part 11 and is painted out in black to indicate staying of the medium. Thus, the medium (paper money) staying on a carrying path is quickly and surely confirmed and removed after the occurrence of trouble.
