PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of the solid electrolyte caused by the distortion by heat and improve the degree of freedom of the selection of a heating means by locating a heat pipe along the longitudinal direction of the ceramic solid electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:In a secondary battery in which the positive electrode active material 4 and the negative electrode active material 3 are separated by the ceramic solid electrolyte, a heat pipe which consists of a closed container and the working fluid filled in the closed container and circularly flows with the evaporation and the condensation to transport the heat is used as a negative electrode terminal 15. Consequently, when the partial difference of the temperature is generated in the longitudinal direction of the solid electrolyte 2 at the time of heating, insulation or charge/discharge, the working fluid in the heat pipe 15 transports the heat so as to eliminate the difference of the temperature by evaporating at the part of high temperature, and flowing as the vapor to the part of low temperature to radiate the heat and to be condensed, and as a result, the whole part is uniformly heated. Thereby, the variable heating means can be used at need, and the damage of the solid electrolyte by the distortion by heat is effectively prevented.
