Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermally reversible thickening compsn. which, though having a low viscosity at low temps., rapidly thickens to form a strong gel when heated and imparts excellent luster and printability to coated paper when used for producing it by compounding a cationic resin latex with an anionic thickening compd. which reversibly changes from hydrophilic to hydrophobic at a certain temp. SOLUTION: This compsn. comprises 99.99-70wt.% anionic resin latex and 0.01-30wt.% cationic thickening compd. Examples of the latex are a resin latex obtd. by using a radical-polymerizable cationic emulsifier and a styrene-butadiene resin latex obtd. by the emulsion polymn. using as the emulsifier a (meth) acrylate having cationic groups and a polyoxypropylene chain. The compd., exemplified as one having a content of polyoxyethylene group of 50wt.% or higher and at least one anionic group, has a mol.wt. per anionic group of 150-50,000. |
