Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a polyurethane containing a metal phthalocyanine in a main chain, suitable as a catalyst, etc., having specific molecular weight, function of phthalocyanine and excellent molding properties into film and fiber, comprising a specific repeating unit. CONSTITUTION:For example, a metallic phthalocyaninedicarboxylic acid derivative is reacted with thionyl chloride to give a metal phthalocyaninedicarboxylic acid chloride, which is reacted with a diol and dihydrochlorinated to give a metallic phthalocyaninedihydroxy ester derivative. The metallic phthalocyaninedihydroxy ester derivative is heated with a diol and 1,6-hexane diisocyanate in a nitrogen flow in dimethylformamide to give a polyurethane comprising a repeating unit shown by the formula [R1 is -O-(CH2CH2O)n- (n is 1-4), etc.; M is metal; x/y=(0.1-99.9)-(90.0/10.0], having 1,000-200,000 molecular weight and containing a metallic phthalocyanine in the main chain.
