Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To manufacture a compound sintered body free from segregation and impurities and having high density at high yield by pulverizing a Ti-Al intermetallic compound having a specified compsn. obtd. by a combustion synthe sizing method into specified grain size, compacting this powder and executing specified sintering. CONSTITUTION:The powder of Ti, Al or the like is mixed and is subjected to combustion synthesizing to obtain a Ti-Al intermetallic compound contg., by atom, 20 to 80% Al and, according to necessary, furthermore contg. one or more kinds among 0.1 to 5% V, 0.1 to 5% Nb, 0.1 to 5% Mn, 0.03 to 3% B, 0.1 to 5% Ag and 0.1 to 1% Si.
