Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of creep phenomenon and to prevent movement of a vehicle on a sloping road, by a method wherein, during a stop by means of a switching valve, the control pressure of an electronic regulating valve is fed to a forward clutch and a line pressure to a brake, and during running, the line pressure is fed to a clutch, and the feed to the brake is shut off. CONSTITUTION:When a manual valve 40 is brought into a range D and a vehicle is stopped, a switching valve 90 communicates a line pressure port a1 to a port gammaand a control pressure port delta to a port epsilon. In which case, by means of a signal from a control part E, an electronic type pressure valve 41 engages a clutch C1 to regulate a control pressure to a value right before transmission of torque, the control pressure is fed to the clutch C1 and a line pressure from the valve 40 is fed to a brake B1. Under this state, torque is not transmitted, and locking of the brake B1 prevents backward movement of a vehicle to prevent the occurrence of creep phenomenon and the vehicle is held. When a running signal is inputted and a valve 90 is shifted to a left half position, the line pressure port a1 is shifted to epsilon and the port gamma to d, and the clutch C1 is brought into a line pressure state for engagement, and the brake B1 is released to allow starting of a vehicle.
