PURPOSE:To make the outer size of the equipment small and to allow the user to use the equipment in various forms of video images with enjoyment by superimposing the signal of song indication from the system side onto a video signal obtained from a receiver through broadcast and displaying the result. CONSTITUTION:Playing data 18b in music data 18c stored in a RAM 14 are fed sequentially to a D/A converter 34 in order to start the playing and converted into a plying signal 34a. Moreover, an audio amplifier 38 amplifies the playing signal 34a and a playing tone is generated from a speaker 40. When data 18b reach a sing tact 56a at the head of a song, a CPU 10 sends the song data 18a to a video control section 26, in which a song video image is generated and the content of the song is displayed on a background video image from a CATV tuner 24. When song display is started onto a monitor receiver 30, a singer starts singing the song from a microphone 36. The sing sound entering the microphone 36 becomes a song signal 36a and is mixed with the playing signal 34a by an audio amplifier 38 and outputted from a speaker 40.
