PURPOSE: To facilitate connecting a conducting material to a transparent electrode and to prevent the brightness of a light emitting portion from becoming uneven even if the light-emitting area is large by providing a transparent- electrode terminal portion made of a conducting material in a predetermined space on the outer periphery of a transparent electrode. CONSTITUTION: A carbon layer 8 formed by the mixing of carbon powders in a polyester resin is provided on the back of a predetermined space on the outer periphery 2a of a transparent electrode 2. A conducting material 9 with electrical resistance smaller than that of the layer 8 (e.g. a silver paste consisting of silver and a resin binder) is provided on the upper surface of the layer 8 to serve as a transparent-electrode terminal portion 9. Feeding current to the electroluminescent panel is thereby facilitated. A conducting pattern 6 made of a material with electrical resistance smaller than that of a back electrode 5 is provided on the electrode 5 in such a way as to divide the electrode 5 into smaller sections, so that unevenness of brightness can be prevented regardless of shape (size).
