Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To shorten adjustment time by automatically adjusting amount of the void of the end part of a sheet and to save sheets by eliminating trial copying. CONSTITUTION:A grid voltage in relation to a high voltage which a main charger 12 outputs via a high voltage unit 55 is detected by a voltage detector 56, thereby obtaining the surface potential of a photosensitive body 11. In response to the detected output, off-timing at which a blank lamp 12 is turned off is controlled by a timing adjusting means so as to be delayed. The amount of the void of the front end of the sheet is always kept constant.
