PURPOSE:To prevent an equipment of a called side from always shifting to an automatic receiving operation of a facsimile equipment, by ringing a ringing tone, when the called side does not detect a CNG signal outputted from a calling side for a prescribed time, after the called side has been brought to a line connection with the calling side. CONSTITUTION:After a called side has been brought to a line connection with a calling side, when the called side does not detect a CNG signal outputted from the calling side for a prescribed time, a ringing tone is rung. Accordingly, after the called side has been brought to a line connection with the calling side, when the called side does not detect the CNG signal outputted from the calling side for a prescribed time, the ringing tone is rung, and a call is executed between a telephone set of the calling side and a telephone set of the called side. On the other hand, when the called side has detected the CNG signal, a receiving operation of a facsimile equipment is executed. In such a way, it is prevented that the called side always shifts to an automatic receiving operation of the facsimile equipment.
