Zusammenfassung:	NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula {(1) and (2), (3) and (4) are directly bonded with each other; Arg-NH2 shows that the carboxyl group of arginine takes amide form}. USE:The substance exhibits strong antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria and eumycetes and is useful as an antibacterial agent and antiseptic agent. PREPARATION:Hematocyte of horseshoe crab (native to North America) is disintegrated in the presence of tris-HC1 buffer solution containing NaCl and benzamidine hydrochloride. A hydrochloric acid solution is added to the obtained precipitate and crushed. The supernatant liquid is eluted with a hydrochloric acid solution and then with a trifluoroacetic acid solution to obtain the objective peptide.
