PURPOSE:To prevent the early abrasion and contact defect of a contact shoe and a contact from being generated and to save labor by holding the contact pressure of the contact shoe to be always constant without changing the inclining angle of a guide part even when the thickness of an IC card to be used is changed. CONSTITUTION:After a contact shoe 25a contacts an IC card 100, the moving of the contact shoe in a direction to approach and separate to the IC card 100 is blocked. However, a contact shoe head 25 is moved in the same direction even after the contact. After the contact shoe 25a contacts the IC card 100, a limit switch 31 to be provided in the contact shoe head 25 detects that an interval between the contact shoe head 25 and IC card 100 goes to be prescribed dimension. Then, the carrying means of the IC card 100 is stopped. Accordingly, the contact pressure of the contact shoe 25a can be always held constant regardless of the thickness of the IC card 100 to be used and further, it is not necessary to change the inclining angle of the guide part. Thus, the early abrasion or contact defect is not generated for the contact shoe 25a and contact and the labor is saved for operation.
