PURPOSE:To make accurate measurement of the body temp. by moving an infrared sensor to a position confronting a tympanum upon checking ocularly the probe installation position using a finder means. CONSTITUTION:A clear acrylic resin cylinder 19 is furnished whose both surfaces are coated black, and the light given by a light emitting diode 18 is transmitted while reflected therein, and the position of a tympanum is well visible from a finder window. When a lever switch 5 is heaved, a sensor up-down moving plate 15 is moved in a single pierce in the condition as holding an infrared sensor 16, and a shutter 17 blocks the light transmission path of a chopper pipe 10, and the infrared sensor 16 is hindered from moving at the top of a slide groove 14 for sensor. At, this time, the infrared sensor 16 is positioned correctly relative to the tympanum. If then the lever switch 5 is heaved to the overmost position, the shutter 17 releases the sensor light receiving window, and the sensor 16 receives the infrared rays from tympanum transmitted through the copper pipe 10. A CPU calculates the temp. of the tympanum and displays the result on a liquid crystal display as the body temp.
