PURPOSE:To strengthen the mechanical strength by providing a protective tube made of a plastic sheath on the outside periphery of a cylindrical fiber layer, peeling off a cable housing by necessary length from an end face of a cable in which fibers of an optical fiber cable are twisted, and inserting the protective tube through the overall length of coated optical fibers which are exposed. CONSTITUTION:A protective tube 23 is inserted through coated optical fibers which are exposed from a peeling end side, allowed to reach a peeling end face of a cable housing 5, and the outside periphery of the cable housing 5 is covered with a high tensile strength fiber 21 of the protective tube 23. Subsequently, this fiber 21 is joined by a binding material 24, and thereafter, fixed to the cable housing 5, a tension member 1 or both of them 5, 1 by an adhesive agent 25, a vinyl chloride tape 27 is wound round thereon, and by this tape 27, drooping of an adhesive part 25 is prevented and it is tacked temporarily. Next, this fixing part is covered with a thermal shrinkage tube by sliding it on the protective tube 23, said tube is heated and contracted, and a protective layer 26 is provided, by which a terminal part is formed.
