EXAMPLE:Bis(p-dimethylaminostyryl)-p-benzyloxyphenylsulfonylmeth-ane. USE:Near infrared absorbing leuco dye in heat-sensitive recording and pressure- sensitive recording. PREPARATION:A compound shown by formula IV (X is anion of halogen or perchloric acid) is heated with a compound shown by the formula NaSO2-R5 in a mixed solvent of methanol/acetic acid.
