Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of cracks and to increase the sealing capability of a battery by thinning the thickness of the upper bending part in each corner of a squar insulating gasket than that of the standing part in a straight part. CONSTITUTION:A thin part 4b is formed on the inside surface of each corner of a squar insulating gasket 4 or a thin part 4c is formed on its outside surface. If the height obtained by subtracting the thickness of a cover 2 and that of an outer terminal 3 from the inside height of the standing part of the gasket 4 is H1 and the height of the thin part is H2, the relation of H1 and H2 is specified to 0.2H1
