Zusammenfassung:	NEW MATERIAL:A peptide (salt) expressed by formula l or a derivative at the functional group thereof. USE:A preventive and treating agent for senile dementia, cerebrovascular dementia, Alzheimer disease, Pick disease, Huntington chorea, Creutzfeldt.Jakob disease, Parkinson disease, cerebellospinal degeneration, etc. PREPARATION:For example, a compound expressed by he formula H-Arg(Mbs)- OBzl (Mbs is p-methoxybenzenesufonyl; OBzl is benzyl ester) is reacted with a compound expressed by the formula Boc-Pro-Osu (Boc is tert-butoxycarbonyl; Osu is N-hyroxysuccinimide ester) in THF to provide a compound expressed by formula II. The alpha-amino-protecting group thereof is then removed and the resultant compound is successively reacted with compounds expressed by the formula Boc-Cys(MBzl)OH (MBzl is p-methoxybenzyl) and Z-Asn-OH (Z is benzyloxycarbonyl) to afford a protected peptide expressed by formula III. The protecting groups are then removed to provide the compound expressed by formula I.
