PURPOSE:To prevent a malfunction and failure of an air conditioner even if the connection of two sensors is mistaken by measuring the variable breadths of outside air temperature and piping temperature and making the piping temperature detecting sensor of a larger variable breadth of them during a constant time after the operation start of an air conditioner. CONSTITUTION:An indoor machine 1 is equipped with an operation switch 1a, a microcomputer 1b, sensor input circuits 1c, 1d and sensor input terminals 1e, 1f. An outdoor machine 2 is equipped with an outdoor heat exchanger 2a, a piping temperature detecting sensor 2b and an outside air temperature detecting sensor 2c. The piping temperature detecting sensor 2b is connected to the indoor machine 1 through the sensor input terminal 1f and the outside air temperature detecting sensor 2c is connected to the indoor machine 1 through the sensor input terminal 1e. The microcomputer 1b of the air conditioner measures variable breadths of outside air temperature and piping temperature during a constant time after operation start, makes the piping temperature of a larger temperature variable breadth of them and thereafter operates so that the control of the air conditioner is performed.
