PURPOSE:To increase the force to hold an electrolyte and maintain the holding force over a long period by using the preset material as an electrolyte holding material and setting the structural volume ratio to the preset value. CONSTITUTION:A compound selected from a group of LiGaO2, LiInO2 and LiSnO3 is used as an electrolyte holding material. These materials are not reacted with an electrolyte and have very small solubility to fused salt and very small conductivity at the cell operating temperature, and the reduction of the salt holding capability in fused salt is small. The volume ratio of these specific materials in an electrolyte plate is set to 20-60vol.%, preferably 35-50vol.%, the lower limit is determined in view of the holding force, the upper limit is determined in view of the ohm loss.
