Zusammenfassung:To provide an endoscopic needle and, in particular, an endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) guided access needle.SOLUTION: An access needle includes a hollow shaft, which has a lumen sized and shaped to slidably receive a guidewire therein and has a distal end including an angled surface extending proximally and transversely from a sharpened distalmost tip of the shaft to a beveled smoothed part of the shaft proximal and transverse to the sharpened tip. The beveled smoothed part is positioned to slidably engage a guidewire extending distally from the distal end of the needle.
