Zusammenfassung:To provide a coating agent which can provide a multilayer structure including EVOH layers having improved gas barrier properties, is less likely to cause wrinkles when used in a production method in which the EVOH layers are thermocompression bonded to each other, and improves adhesion between the EVOH layers.SOLUTION: The coating agent comprises a modified EVOH (A) and inorganic fine particles. The modified EVOH (A) contains structural units (Ia), (Ib), and (Ic) represented by the following formulas.The molar contents (mol %) a, b and c of the structural units (Ia), (Ib) and (Ic) satisfy the formulas (1) to (3) described in the specification. The degree of saponification (DS) of the modified EVOH (A) is 90 mol % or more. The average particle size of the inorganic fine particles is 10 to 2,000 nm. The content of the inorganic fine particles is 1 to 2,000 ppm by weight based on the weight of the modified EVOH (A).
