To provide an image forming apparatus, an information processing system, an information processing method, and a program that can present recommendations demanded by a user when the user has a small amount of history.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a storage unit that stores, for every user, usage information including functions used by the user, the execution time of the functions, and the settings of the functions; a selection unit that, on the basis of the usage information, selects at least one of a function and settings to be recommended to a log-in user who has logged-in to the apparatus according to the log-in time for every user; and a display unit that displays a screen for proposing at least selected one of the function and settings.
