To provide a wiper that achieves high durability with sufficient strength of adhesion between a lip part and a fitting part, and causes reduced looseness of a fastening bolt during sliding on a cleaning target surface at the tip of the lip part and reduced distortion and deflection of a wiper due to excessive fastening of the fastening bolt.SOLUTION: A wiper 1 that is attached to a machine tool to wipe a cleaning target surface comprises: a belt-shaped installation part 10 having a reinforcement plate 10a made of a rigid material and a back part 10b made of an elastic material provided on the reinforcement plate 10a; and a lip part 11 made of an elastic material, installed on a side surface in a short direction of the installation part 10, and has a sliding part 11a that slides in contact with the cleaning target surface. A thickness of the back part 10b is more than 0 mm and 0.5 mm or less.
