To provide a composite that can reduce the peeling and breaking of a coating.SOLUTION: A composite includes a metal substrate, a coating predominantly composed of crystalline oxide, and an intermediate layer interposed between the substrate and the coating. The value calculated by dividing the average thickness of the coating by the average thickness of the intermediate layer is 1.2 or more and 6.5 or less.
