The control device calculates a compensation value that corrects a state quantity that serves as an input for estimating and calculating the angular velocity during acceleration and deceleration of the rotating electric machine in order to suppress to approximately zero a steady-state error that occurs in the state quantity, which is an input for estimating and calculating the angular velocity, and detects slippage or skidding of the drive wheels driven by the rotating electric machine when the compensation value exceeds a predetermined value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
