To provide an inkjet printer capable of easily inserting a recording medium between a guide member and a drying device.SOLUTION: An inkjet printer comprises a support base 16 for supporting a recording medium 5, a conveyance device 32 for conveying the recording medium 5 in a conveying direction X, a guide member 14 disposed on a downstream side X1 from the support base 16 in the conveying direction X, for guiding movement of the recording medium 5, a drying device 50 disposed so as to face the guide member 14, for blowing hot air to the recording medium 5 supported by the guide member 14, a sensor S2 for detecting reach of the recording medium 5, and a control device. The control device, when the sensor S2 detects the recording medium 5, forces the recording medium 5 to be conveyed by a registered predefined conveyance distance before printing start, and when the sensor S2 does not detect the recording medium 5, forces the recording medium 5 to be further conveyed by the predefined conveyance distance after conveying the recording medium 5 until detected by the sensor S2. The predefined conveyance distance is set to a distance until the recording medium 5 reaches the drying device 50.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】記録媒体をガイド部材と乾燥装置との間に挿入しやすいインクジェットプリンタ【解決手段】インクジェットプリンタは、記録媒体５を支持する支持台１６と、記録媒体５を搬送方向Ｘに搬送する搬送装置３２と、支持台１６よりも搬送方向Ｘの下流Ｘ１に設けられ記録媒体５の移動をガイドするガイド部材１４と、ガイド部材１４と対向するように設けられガイド部材１４に支持された記録媒体５に熱風を吹きつける乾燥装置５０と、記録媒体５の到達を検知するセンサＳ２と、制御装置と、を備える。制御装置は、センサＳ２が記録媒体５を検知している場合には、印刷開始よりも前に記録媒体５を登録された事前搬送距離だけ搬送し、センサＳ２が記録媒体５を検知してない場合には、センサＳ２に検知されるまで記録媒体５を搬送した後さらに記録媒体５を事前搬送距離だけ搬送する。事前搬送距離は、記録媒体５が乾燥装置５０に到達する距離に設定されている。【選択図】図３
