Zusammenfassung:To provide a honeycomb structure, an electrically heated carrier, and an exhaust gas treatment apparatus which can suppress generation of a vertical crack extending in an axial direction.SOLUTION: A honeycomb structure comprises: a honeycomb structural part 1 made of ceramics having an outer peripheral wall 10, partition walls 11 which are disposed inside the outer peripheral wall 10 and form a plurality of cells 11a forming channels extending from one end face to the other end face, and a plurality of slits 12 which are separate from each other in a circumferential direction 1C, cut inward in a radial direction from the outer peripheral wall 10 and extend in an extending direction ED of the cells 11a; a pair of electrode layers 2 which are provided on an outside surface of the outer peripheral wall 10 so as to oppose each other sandwiching the central axis CA of the honeycomb structural part 1, and used for outputting/inputting a current to the honeycomb structural part 1; and a reinforced layer 3 which is provided on the outside surface of the outer peripheral wall 10 so as to position between the pair of electrode layers 2 in the circumferential direction 1C of the honeycomb structural part 1, and is electrically separated from the pair of electrode layers 2 by the slits 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】軸方向に延びる縦クラックの発生を抑えることができるハニカム構造体、電気加熱式担体及び排ガス処理装置を提供する。【解決手段】本発明によるハニカム構造体は、外周壁10と、外周壁10の内側に配設され、一方の端面から他方の端面まで延びる流路を形成する複数のセル11aを区画形成する隔壁11と、周方向1Cに互いに離間し、外周壁10から径方向内方に切られ、かつ、セル11aの延伸方向EDに延びる複数のスリット12と、を有するセラミックス製のハニカム構造部1と、外周壁10の外面上に、ハニカム構造部1の中心軸CAを挟んで対向するように設けられ、ハニカム構造部1に対する電流の出入に用いられる一対の電極層2と、ハニカム構造部1の周方向1Cで一対の電極層2の間に位置するように外周壁10の外面上に設けられ、スリット12により一対の電極層2と電気的に分離されている補強層3と、を備えている。【選択図】図1
