Zusammenfassung:	To ensure a good working field of view from a cab and to prevent a cab from falling during ascending/descending.SOLUTION: A hydraulic shovel 1 comprises an ascending/descending cab 6. A support base 20 supporting the cab 6 is provided at a rear side of the cab 6. An ascending/descending mechanism 30 making the cab 6 ascend/descend is interposed between the cab 6 and the support base 20. Cab falling detection means 50 for detecting falling of the cab 6 and a brake 43 are provided in the ascending/descending mechanism 30.
