Zusammenfassung: | To further suppress occurrence of burn in a liquid discharge device to improve durability thereof.SOLUTION: A liquid ejection device comprises: a recording element substrate provided with an ejection port for discharging liquid and voltage applying means for applying voltages to the recording element substrate. The recording element substrate includes: a first layer member provided with the ejection port formed on a surface thereof; and a second layer member fixed to a rear surface of the first layer member. The first layer member is provided with a first passage communicating with the ejection port. The second layer member is provided with: a second passage communicating with the first passage; a heat generation resistance element positioned to oppose to the ejection port; and an electrode that covers a surface on the first layer member side of the heat generation resistance element and that is exposed toward the first passage.
