Zusammenfassung:To provide a search assistance system using a flying object, which can find a person to be searched.SOLUTION: The search assistance system comprises: a drone 10 equipped with a communication machine 50 and cameras 25 and 26; a detection unit 27 that detects a person P to be searched on the basis of photographed images of the cameras 25 and 26; and a control unit 33 that controls the cameras 25 and 26, the communication machine 50, and the drone 10. The control unit 33 causes the drone 10 to fly to a search region of the person P to be searched and the cameras 25 and 26 to photograph images of the search region. The detection unit 27 determines, upon recognition of predetermined specific information from the photographed images of the cameras 25 and 26, that the person P is present in a place where the specific information has been detected.
