Zusammenfassung:	To provide a rewritable recording medium that allows printing with the same feel as regular inkjet printing and can be handled like a sheet such as paper, and to provide an image recording method.SOLUTION: A recording medium includes a substrate, and a variable light-scattering layer with an interconnected porous structure capable of holding liquid, disposed on the substrate. The variable light-scattering layer can lower light scattering by allowing the porous structure to hold the liquid. The variable light-scattering layer has a thickness of 8 μm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】通常のインクジェットプリントと同様の感覚でプリントでき、紙等のシートと同様の感覚で取り扱うことが可能でリライタブルな記録媒体及び画像記録方法を提供する。【解決手段】基材と、前記基材上に液体を保持可能な連通した多孔質構造を有する光散乱可変層と、を有し、前記光散乱可変層は、前記多孔質構造が前記液体を保持することによって、光散乱性を低下させることが可能であり、前記光散乱可変層の厚さが８μｍ以下であることを特徴とする記録媒体である。【選択図】図１
