METHOD FOR PRODUCING COATING COMPOSITION

To provide a method for producing a coating composition for improving the dispersion of powder into a vehicle, in which the method achieves desired dispersion of powders, especially when powders with widely differing particle sizes are mixed.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a coating composition containing two or more kinds of powders having different particle diameters at a specific blending ratio. A mill base additive is prepared by adding powder other than the finest particle diameter powder to a fine-particle-diameter powder mill base prepared by dispersing finest particle-diameter powder having the finest particle diameter among the two or more kinds of powders having different particle diameters into a vehicle, so as to have the specific blending ratio between the powder other than the finest particle diameter powder and the finest particle diameter powder.
