To improve the performance of a display device.SOLUTION: A display panel 20 includes a light source section 22, a light guide section 26, a liquid crystal layer 32, a partition section 42, a display section 28, and a diffusion section 52. The light source section 22 can emit light LR, light LG, and light LB. Light source light LT emitted from the light source section 22 enters the light guide section 26. The light LR, the light LG, and the light LB that have passed through the light guide section 26 enter the liquid crystal layer 32. The partition section 42 partitions the liquid crystal layer 32 into a plurality of pixel regions PS. An image formed by the light LR, the light LG, and the light LB emitted from the plurality of pixel regions PS is displayed on the display section 28.
