Zusammenfassung: | To provide a smell detection system and a smell detection method that maintain high cell resonance gain and improve circulation of gas to be measured.SOLUTION: A smell detection system and a smell detection method include: a resonance cell 10 including a light source 13 that intermittently irradiates light onto a measurement gas present in a resonance space of a predetermined volume, and a microphone 14 for detecting acoustic waves of a particular gas within the resonance cell 10; a signal processing means 23 for processing the acoustic waves detected by the microphone 14; a control means 22 that performs at least a light source driving function of providing a driving signal to the light source and a gas estimation function for estimating gas species of a specific gas based on a signal from a signal processing means; and a measurement gas supplying means 17 for forcibly supplying the measurement gas to the resonance space was connected to either a cell inlet 11 or a cell outlet 12 connected to the resonance space of the resonance cell 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
