Zusammenfassung: | To provide a medium processing device that satisfies a user's need to discharge a medium as it is without processing the medium by a processing section that processes the medium.SOLUTION: A medium processing device includes: a processing tray; a feed roller for feeding a medium into the processing tray; and a pair of discharge rollers for discharging the medium from the processing tray, the pair of discharge rollers including: a first roller and a second roller switchable between a first state in which the medium can be nipped between the first roller and the second roller and a second state in which the medium is spaced apart from the first roller in the nipped state. Therein, a control unit for controlling a state switching of the second roller is capable of switching between: a first mode in which the medium is fed into and placed onto the processing tray by the feed roller while the second roller is in the second state, and then the second roller is switched from the second state into the first state to discharge the medium; and a second mode in which the medium is discharged by the feed roller and the pair of discharge rollers without being placed on the processing tray while maintaining the second roller in the first state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
