To provide a medium processing device that satisfies a user's need to discharge a medium as it is without processing the medium by a processing section that processes the medium.SOLUTION: A medium processing device includes: a processing tray; a feed roller for feeding a medium into the processing tray; and a pair of discharge rollers for discharging the medium from the processing tray, the pair of discharge rollers including: a first roller and a second roller switchable between a first state in which the medium can be nipped between the first roller and the second roller and a second state in which the medium is spaced apart from the first roller in the nipped state.
