To provide a vehicle control device capable of increasing convenience of automated driving by restricting unnecessary abort of automated driving even if shift changeover request from an automated driving system is inappropriate.SOLUTION: A shift by wire ECU (control device) 80 (a) executes a shift changeover request signal Ssftchg to P range without executing a shift changeover request signal Ssftchg to either D range or R range from the automated driving ECU 90 if the shift changeover request signal Ssftchg is determined inappropriate during automated driving and a vehicle is in a predetermined parking state or very low vehicle speed state, and (b) executes shift changeover to N range without executing a shift changeover request signal Ssftchg to the D range, R range or P range from the automated driving ECU 90 if the shift changeover request signal Ssftchg is determined inappropriate during automated driving and the vehicle is in a predetermined driving state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】自動運転システムからのシフト切替要求が不適切であっても不必要に自動運転が中止されることが抑制されて自動運転の利便性が向上させられる、車両の制御装置を提供する。【解決手段】シフトバイワイヤＥＣＵ（制御装置）８０は、（ａ）自動運転中にシフト切替要求信号Ｓsftchgを不適切と判定し且つ所定の停車状態又は極低車速状態の場合には、自動運転ＥＣＵ９０からのＤレンジ及びＲレンジのいずれかへのシフト切替要求信号Ｓsftchgを実行せずＰレンジへのシフト切替要求信号Ｓsftchgを実行し、（ｂ）自動運転中にシフト切替要求信号Ｓsftchgを不適切と判定し且つ所定の走行状態の場合には、自動運転ＥＣＵ９０からのＤレンジ、Ｒレンジ、及びＰレンジへのシフト切替要求信号Ｓsftchgを実行せずＮレンジへのシフト切替を実行する。【選択図】図１
