PRESS-CONTACT STATE SWITCHING DEVICE, FIXING DEVICE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

To easily solve paper jam occurring between a first pressure member and a second pressure member.SOLUTION: A pressure-contact state switching device comprises a first pressure-contact spring 133 and a second pressure-contact spring 144. The first pressure-contact spring 133 and the second pressure-contact spring 144 urge a pressure roller and a fixing pad in directions to bring them into proximity. The pressure-contact state switching device can switch a relative position between the pressure roller and the fixing pad selectively to any one position of a first position where they approach most closely to each other, an intermediate second position, and a third position where they are most separated from each other.
